A STORY THAT GOES BACK A LONG TIME AGO...
Taberna A'DE LINO first opened its doors on Bonfire Night in 1996. But its story starts long before that, making possible all the little stories responsible for the peculiar personality of this place now dedicated to the gathering and amusement of people devoted to the traditional kitchen and folklore.
Due to a conversation with his grandfather Adelino Faria Garrido, Lino Fervenza decides to transform an old house located in A Fraga, in the village of Moaña, which was used as a stable for the animals, a place to keep all the farm equipment, a place to make wine and also the place where the people in the neighbourhood used to get together around the "cañeiro" (person who distilled spirits) and so transforming it into a tavern to serve as a reminder of our customs -those which had traditionally conformed the lives of the Galician rural people-. Customs which are no longer in use and practically doomed to oblivion.
Thus Lino Fervenza starts the restoration not only of the centennial facilities but also the equipment and the small constructions all over the place: the ox cart, the farm equipment, the barn, the well, the trough, the press where the wine is made all of them destined to be part of the decoration of the future tavern and which we can admire now. We could say it is the perfect place to revive the stories our grandparents used to tell us so many times.
Nowadays, Taberna A´DE LINO, can be considered as a reference in Peninsula do Morrazo, as an example of fusion between making business and recovering the past for it can be seen as a little "ethnic museum". Here we can enjoy a good meal while we listen to a live concert of traditional music, or we can join a group of people singing traditional songs around a bottle of wine or a "queimada" until late at night.
We cannot leave behind the fact that it is placed in the centre of Ecorruta do Morrazo. This route starts from Lago Castiñeiras and goes through interesting places in villages like Marín, Bueu, Cangas and Moaña (Chan da Arquiña or Río da Fraga route). We cannot forget either the nearby beaches of the Peninsula do Morrazo (A Xunqueira, Rodeira, Nerga, Cabo Home, Aquete or Lapamán) or the golf course Ría de Vigo which altogether makes Taberna A´DE LINO the perfect place to make a halt in the way and recover strength to proceed with our trip.
